Every year on the 19th day of the ninth lunar month, the 125 Tan Phu Guanyin Temple holds a ceremony to celebrate the Renunciation Day of Guanyin Bodhisattva, commemorating the day she renounced worldly life to pursue spiritual cultivation.
Significance
The Renunciation Day marks the occasion when Guanyin Bodhisattva left the palace, gave up wealth and glory, and embarked on the path of spiritual practice and liberation. It stands as a shining example of the Bodhisattva's letting go of worldly attachments, embracing compassion, and vowing to deliver all sentient beings from suffering.
