Every year on the 19th day of the second lunar month, the 125 Tan Phu Guanyin Temple holds a grand ceremony to celebrate the Birthday of Guanyin Bodhisattva, commemorating the day of her birth.

Significance

Guanyin Bodhisattva (Quan The Am Bo Tat) is the Bodhisattva of Great Compassion, who constantly listens to the cries of all beings in times of suffering. On this sacred day, devotees remember and express gratitude for the Bodhisattva's boundless merit and compassion.

Ceremony

The temple holds a solemn blessing ceremony:

• Offering incense, fresh flowers, and fruits to the Bodhisattva
• Chanting sutras and praying for peace
• Praying for the safety, health, and happiness of family members
